Ukraine reports 2,758 new coronavirus cases

Ukraine has recorded 2,758 new coronavirus cases in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases to 2,085,938.

"Some 2,758 new cases of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) were recorded in Ukraine as of May 3, 2021. Some 116 children and 23 health workers fell ill," Health Minister of Ukraine Maksym Stepanov posted on his Facebook page.

According to Stepanov, 154 deaths, 1,591 hospitalizations, and 5,550 recoveries were registered in Ukraine on May 2. As many as 16,023 tests were performed over the past 24 hours.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, 2,085,938 people in Ukraine have contracted coronavirus, 1,681,815 have recovered, and 44,750 have died.

The highest number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours was recorded in Dnipropetrovsk region (360), Cherkasy region (233), Sumy region (231), Donetsk region (202), and Kharkiv region (164).

Some 177 people were vaccinated against COVID-19 in Ukraine on May 2, Stepanov noted.

As many as 755,103 people have been vaccinated against coronavirus since the beginning of the vaccination campaign in Ukraine.
