COVID-19 hospitalization rates exceeded in eight regions – Ministry of Health

Kyiv city and nine regions in Ukraine remain in the “red” zone of the COVID-19 quarantine, Ukrinform reports with reference to data published on the Ukrainian Ministry of Health's website.

As of April 30, Kyiv city, Zhytomyr, Zaporizhzhia, Kyiv, Mykolaiv, Poltava, Sumy, Kharkiv, Khmelnytskyi, and Chernihiv regions are in the “red” zone. The “yellow” zone includes Vinnytsia, Zakarpattia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Lviv, Odesa, Kherson and Chernivtsi regions. Other regions are in the “orange” zone.

The COVID-19-associated hospitalization rates (60 per 100,000 people) are exceeded in eight regions: Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Zhytomyr, Luhansk, Sumy, Kharkiv, Khmelnytskyi, Cherkasy, and Chernihiv regions. Compared to April 28, the number of regions with high hospitalization rates decreased by two regions - Volyn and Kharkiv regions.

As of April 29, the highest COVID-19-associated hospitalization rates were recorded in Khmelnytskyi region – 84.7 per 100,000 people, Sumy region – 71.5, and Cherkasy region – 69.0. In Kyiv city, this rate amounted to 50.2.

As of April 29, no region exceeded the rates for oxygen-supplied beds.

Ukraine recorded 10,072 new coronavirus cases on April 29.
