Ukraine reports 17,463 new coronavirus cases

Ukraine has recorded 17,463 new coronavirus cases over the past day, bringing the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases to 1,841,137, Health Minister Maksym Stepanov has said.

"Some 17,463 new cases of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) have been recorded in Ukraine as of April 10, 2021. In particular, 684 children and 394 health workers contracted COVID-19," Stepanov posted on Facebook.

According to the minister, 398 deaths, 10,722 recoveries and 4,709 hospitalizations were registered in Ukraine in the last day.

Since the beginning of the pandemic in Ukraine, 36,779 deaths and 1,405,826 recoveries have been recorded.

The highest number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours was registered in Kyiv city (1,605), Dnipropetrovsk region (1,383), Kharkiv region (1,343), Lviv region (1,342), and Kyiv region (1,133).

In addition, according to Stepanov, on April 9, 19,858 people in Ukraine were vaccinated against the coronavirus. In total, 373,002 people have been vaccinated since the start of vaccination campaign.
