UAH 2B to be allocated for Great Restoration this year – Tkachenko

UAH 2 billion will be allocated for the Great Restoration program in 2021, Culture and Information Policy Minister Oleksandr Tkachenko has said.

"This year's Great Restoration will receive UAH 2 billion, including UAH 1.7 billion (laid in a special fund from the gaming industry) and UAH 300 million from the general fund, which we will start using in the near future," Tkachenko said in an interview with LB, Ukrinform reports.

According to him, a preliminary list of facilities has already been drawn up, which should be considered by an expert council. “Some facilities already have the necessary design documentation, which will allow us to start work immediately. According to the president and the ministry, the program should cover all regions of the country, not only Kyiv and Lviv,” the minister said.

As Ukrinform reported, on August 18, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky signed a decree "On measures to support the cultural sector, protect cultural heritage, and develop creative industries and tourism."

The document is aimed at promoting the development of Ukraine’s cultural potential, preserving, promoting and the effective use of the national cultural heritage, creating conditions for the tourist attractiveness of cultural heritage sites and supporting the creative economy.

Minister of Culture and Information Policy Oleksandr Tkachenko stated that a Great Restoration project will be launched in Ukraine in 2021.
