Ministry of Veterans Affairs to cooperate with OSCE in rehabilitation system development

The Ministry of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine will continue to cooperate with the OSCE in the development of a system for the rehabilitation of veterans.

Further cooperation was discussed at the meeting of Minister for Veterans Affairs of Ukraine Yuliia Laputina with OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Ukraine, Ambassador Henrik Villadsen, the Ministry’s press service informs.

“The Ministry of Veterans Affairs is interested in further cooperation with the OSCE, particularly, in the field of the implementation of new projects aimed at developing rehabilitation programs and standards, sociological research, professional upgrading of psychological care providers as well as digitalization of services provided to veterans,” Laputina said.

The minister also thanked Villadsen for the project implemented with the support of the OSCE in Ukraine last year. By developing rehabilitation mechanisms, this project has strengthened the Ministry's capacity to build a support system for the conflict-affected population.

According to Ambassador Henrik Villadsen, the unique experience gained in dealing with the aftermath of war could be useful to other countries. He also drew attention to the importance of developing projects to integrate defenders into communities.
