President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky says that the first million doses of COVID-19 vaccine from a leading international company will soon arrive in Ukraine.

He said this in a video address posted on his Facebook page on January 25, Ukrinform reports.

"Vaccination will begin in February. We expect 1 million doses of vaccine (the first million) from a leading international company to arrive in Ukraine in the near future. We will be able to announce the details in the near future," Zelensky said.

As Ukrinform reported, at an online meeting on preventing the spread of coronavirus on Monday, January 25, Health Minister Maksym Stepanov said that vaccination in Ukraine is expected to begin in February. It will be conducted by mobile teams during the first stage.

In January 2021, the Cabinet of Ministers made a decision allowing the British agency Crown Agents to purchase COVID-19 vaccines for Ukraine. The Health Ministry plans to sign an agreement with another COVID-19 vaccine supplier in the near future.
