Health Ministry: AstraZeneca ready for active cooperation with Ukraine

Health Minister of Ukraine Maksym Stepanov discussed with Alec van Gelder, Executive Director of International Government Affairs at AstraZeneca, the "terms and logistics" of the coronavirus vaccine supplies to Ukraine.

“For several months now, the Ministry of Health of Ukraine has been establishing active and effective communication with the head office of AstraZeneca. Today we have already discussed the logistics and terms of delivery of the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine to Ukraine. Our country is fully ready to receive vaccines, we have a comprehensive plan for vaccination of the population," the press service of the Ministry of Health quoted Stepanov as saying.

The parties discussed the pre-contract conditions, as well as the terms and logistics of supply of COVID-19 vaccine to Ukraine.

Alek van Gelder declared his readiness to "actively cooperate with Ukraine."

"Currently, we will work out options for supplying vaccines to Ukraine in the near future," he said.

At the same time, there is no information on specific dates or number of doses Ukraine may receive.
