Health Ministry names regions with highest incidence of coronavirus cases

The highest incidence rate of COVID-19 in Ukraine was recorded in Zaporizhzhia, Mykolaiv, Cherkasy, Kyiv, Chernihiv, Odesa regions and the city of Kyiv, according to data provided by the Health Ministry on December 29.

In particular, the incidence rate of COVID-19 in the past 14 days in Zaporizhzhia region amounted to 574.7 per 100,000 people, in Mykolaiv region – 528.5, in Cherkasy region – 508.1, in Kyiv region – 481.3, in Chernihiv region – 473.7, Odesa region – 452.9, and the city of Kyiv – 529.7 per 100,000 people.

An average incidence rate across Ukraine is 336.8 per 100,000 people.

The bed occupancy rate at COVID-19 designated hospitals across the country in the past five days amounted to 40.1% as of December 28. In Kyiv city, this figure amounted to 47.3%.

The highest level of bed occupancy rate was recorded in Mykolaiv region (63.2%) and Odesa region (52.9%).

As reported by Ukrinform, a total of 1,037,362 coronavirus cases were recorded in Ukraine on December 29, including 6,988 new COVID-19 cases registered in the past 24 hours.
