Ukraine not holding negotiations on Russian vaccine – Yermak

Ukraine is negotiating with all coronavirus vaccine manufacturers, except for the Russian Federation.

Head of the President’s Office Andriy Yermak said this during a meeting with journalists on Monday, December 28.

According to him, Ukraine is negotiating with all manufacturers in order to get the vaccine as soon as possible. “We are working on getting it in the near future,” Yermak said.

When asked about the Russian vaccine, Yermak replied that negotiations with the Russian Federation are not being conducted, since the vaccine produced in the Russian Federation is not certified at the international level.

As reported, according to the "road map" developed by the Health Ministry and international experts, vaccination against coronavirus in Ukraine will take place in 2021-2022. It is planned to cover at least 50% of the country's population.

Ukraine signed technical documents on the provision of 8 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine within the COVAX Facility. This will be enough to vaccinate 4 million people (one person needs two doses).
