Ukraine reports 11,035 new COVID-19 cases

A total of 11,035 new coronavirus cases have been recorded in Ukraine in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases to 1.012,167.

"Some 11,035 new coronavirus cases have been recorded in Ukraine as of December 25, 2020. In particular, 537 children and 422 health workers were infected," Health Minister Maksym Stepanov posted on Facebook.

As noted, 186 patients died from COVID-19, 15,337 patients recovered and 2,739 people were hospitalized in Ukraine on December 24.

Stepanov informed that 58,874 coronavirus tests, including 37,873 PCR (polymerase chain reaction) tests and 21,001 ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) tests, had been performed in Ukraine in the past 24 hours.

Since the pandemic started, 646,772 recoveries and 17,581 deaths have been registered in Ukraine.

Over the past day, the highest number of confirmed COVID-19 cases was registered in Kyiv city (1,038), Odesa region (963), Kyiv region (877), Zaporizhzhia region (690), and Kharkiv region (629).
