Highest incidence of coronavirus cases recorded in Kyiv city – Health Ministry

The highest incidence rate of COVID-19 in Ukraine was recorded in Kyiv city, Zaporizhzhia, Cherkasy, Chernihiv, Kyiv, Odesa, Mykolaiv, and Volyn regions, according to data provided by the Health Ministry on December 23.

In particular, the incidence rate of COVID-19 in the past 14 days in Kyiv city amounted to 645 per 100,000 people, in Zaporizhzhia region – 633.6, and in Cherkasy region – 607.5.

The high incidence rate of COVID-19 in the past 14 days was also recorded in Chernihiv region (563.4), Kyiv region (523.8), Odesa region (512.8), Mykolaiv region (523.7), and Volyn region (452.2).

An average incidence rate across Ukraine is 378.9 per 100,000 people.

The bed occupancy rate at COVID-19 designated hospitals across the country in the past five days amounted to 41% as of December 22. In Kyiv city, this figure amounted to 49.5%.

The high level of bed occupancy rate was recorded in Mykolaiv region (69.8%) and Odesa region (53.7%), and Chernihiv region (50.5%).

As reported by Ukrinform, on December 23, a total of 989,642 COVID-19 cases were laboratory confirmed in Ukraine, including 10,136 new cases reported in the past 24 hours.
