Three schools, five kindergartens closed in Kyiv due to COVID-19

Three schools and five kindergartens have been temporarily closed in Kyiv city due to a rise in coronavirus cases, according to Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko.

“Today three schools in our city remain closed for quarantine. Some 637 classes in 222 schools have been transferred to distance learning,” he said at a briefing, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

In total, 907 pupils in Kyiv are sick with coronavirus. Almost 750 teachers have also contracted COVID-19.

In addition, 144 groups in 122 kindergartens have been closed due to COVID-19 cases

On December 18, a total of 944,381 COVID-19 cases were laboratory confirmed in Ukraine, including 12,630 new cases reported in the past 24 hours.
