Highest incidence of coronavirus cases recorded in Kyiv city, Cherkasy region

The highest incidence rate of COVID-19 in Ukraine was recorded in Kyiv city and Cherkasy region, according to data provided by the Health Ministry on December 16

In particular, the incidence rate of COVID-19 in the past 14 days in Cherkasy region amounted to 737.8 per 100,000 people, in the city of Kyiv - 713.3.

The high incidence rate of COVID-19 in the past 14 days was also recorded in Zaporizhzhia region – 671.5 per 100,000 people, Chernihiv region – 619.8, Sumy region – 554.7, Odesa region – 547.2, and Kyiv region – 591.3.

An average incidence rate across Ukraine is 423.9 per 100,000 people.

The bed occupancy rate at COVID-19 designated hospitals across the country in the past five days amounted to 42.9% as of December 15. In Kyiv city, this figure amounted to 51.8%.

The high level of bed occupancy rate was recorded in Mykolaiv region (65.4%), Odesa region (54.2%), Kherson region (51.4%), and Chernihiv region (52.6%).

On December 16, a total of 919,704 COVID-19 cases were laboratory confirmed in Ukraine, including 10,622 new cases reported in the past 24 hours.
