Three schools remain closed in Kyiv due to COVID-19

Three schools have been temporarily closed in Kyiv city due to a rise in coronavirus cases, according to Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko

“Today three schools remain closed for quarantine in Kyiv. Some 836 classes in 250 schools have been transferred to distance learning,” he said at a briefing, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.  

In total, 1,245 pupils are sick with coronavirus in Kyiv. Almost 1,000 teachers are also sick, Klitschko said.

The mayor said that due to confirmed coronavirus cases, four kindergartens have been temporarily closed for quarantine.

As reported by Ukrinform, a total of 872,228 COVID-19 cases were laboratory confirmed in Ukraine on December 11, including 13,514 new cases reported in the past 24 hours.
