Emergency Operations Center in healthcare sector to be established in Ukraine

An Emergency Operations Center (EOC) in the healthcare sector will be established at the Public Health Center of Ukraine, according to the website of the Public Health Center.

“At the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, we set up a working group at the Center to quickly respond to challenges of the pandemic, which later grew into an operational headquarters. During 11 months, we realized that we need a special group of experts and specialists who will predict all possible scenarios of unforeseen public health challenges, that is to create a permanent Emergency Operations Center at the Public Health Center,” said acting Director General of the Public Health Center of Ukraine Ihor Kuzin.

The Emergency Operations Center should strengthen the state's ability to respond quickly to potential and possible risks and emergencies in the public health sector, as well as to prevent, eliminate or reduce their harm, in particular by promoting measures against the spread of COVID-19.
