More than 31,000 hospital beds equipped to provide oxygen – health minister

In Ukraine, more than 31,000 hospital beds are equipped to provide oxygen to COVID-19 patients, according to Health Minister Maksym Stepanov.

“We have a problem with oxygen in some regions, there were 3,500 beds equipped to provide oxygen at the beginning of the pandemic. As of today’s morning, there are 31,224 beds," Stepanov said during an hour of questions to the government, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

He added that by the end of the year, the number of such beds provided with oxygen support would be increased to 80% of all beds designated for the treatment of COVID-19 patients.

As reported by Ukrinform, a total of 787,891 COVID-19 cases were laboratory confirmed in Ukraine on December 4, including 15,131 new cases reported in the past 24 hours.
