On behalf of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, the memory of the Heavenly Hundred Heroes was honoured.

"On the Day of Dignity and Freedom, November 21, the memory of the Heavenly Hundred Heroes was honoured on behalf of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky," the press service of the Head of State reports.

In particular, flowers were laid to the memorial cross at the site of the death of Maidan activists on the Alley of Heavenly Hundred Heroes in Kyiv.

"For 29 years of Ukraine's independence, a number of revolutions took place: Ukrainians defended the European vector of development, protection of democratic values, human rights and freedoms, as well as decent living and work standards. Only the people who truly value freedom and dignity are invincible. We must summarize and rethink the moral experience of different generations of Ukrainians who fought for democratic values, rights and freedoms," the Head of State said.

On Saturday, November 21, Ukraine marks the Day of Dignity and Freedom.

The holiday was established in accordance with the presidential decree of November 13, 2014 in honour of the commencement on this day of two significant and fateful events in contemporary Ukrainian history - the 2004 Orange Revolution and the 2013 Revolution of Dignity.

The Heavenly Hundred Heroes are the Euromaidan participants killed during the protests.
