More than 10,500 teachers contracted COVID-19 since start of school year

More than 5,000 pupils and more than 10,500 teachers in Ukraine have fallen ill with COVID-19 since September 1, according to Health Minister Maksym Stepanov.

“A total of 0.9% of pupils, or 5,215 persons, have contracted COVID-19 since the beginning of the school year. Some 10,552 teachers have fallen ill with COVID-19 since the beginning of the school year. As of today, 912 educational institutions have been switched to distance learning,” Stepanov said at a press briefing, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

As of November 4, 420,617 COVID-19 cases were laboratory confirmed in Ukraine, including 9,524 cases recorded during the previous day.
