SBU holds anti-terrorist exercises in penal colony

Ukraine's SBU State Security Service has conducted anti-terrorist exercises on the territory of a penal colony in the Halych district of Ivano-Frankivsk region, the SBU's press center has reported.

According to the legend of the exercises, convicted militants from the so-called "DPR" took a security guard hostage, seized weapons and barricaded themselves in the colony building. The "criminals" made anti-Ukrainian requirements and demanded the release of pro-Russian illegal armed groups. At this time, other convicts staged a mutiny in the colony.

Regional units of the SBU, the State Penitentiary Service, the National Guard, the National Police, the State Emergency Service, the State Border Guard Service and other counter-terrorism agencies were immediately involved in neutralizing the "terrorist threat."

After the "negotiations," the coordination group of the Anti-Terrorist Center at the regional SBU directorate decided to capture the "terrorists" by force and release the "hostage." At the same time, the forces of a State Penitentiary Service unit quelled the "riot," and the rescuers of the State Emergency Service extinguished the "fire" committed by the "rebels."

Earlier, the SBU, with the assistance of the Israeli Embassy, conducted special tactical exercises in Kyiv to neutralize conditional "terrorists" who, according to the legend of the exercises, took a "hostage."
