Zelensky outlines directions of development of Ivano-Frankivsk region

Ukraine’s Ivano-Frankivsk region is touristically attractive and has a potential for the development of renewable energy and organic production.

President Volodymyr Zelensky said this during a speech at the presentation of the Ivano-Frankivsk Region Development Strategy on September 18, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"Ivano-Frankivsk region is touristically attractive and has a significant historical and cultural heritage. In addition, the region has the potential for the development of renewable energy, organic production, small and medium-sized businesses, as well as support for big business," the President said.

Zelensky recalled that Forbes has recently recognized Ivano-Frankivsk as the best city for doing business in Ukraine.

At the same time, the head of state noted that the region lacks a waste recycling plant and modern water treatment facilities, and 90% of local roads require repair.

As Ukrinform reported, President Volodymyr Zelensky is on a working trip to Ivano-Frankivsk region on Friday, September 18.
