New Ukrainian School: Regions already used 300M out of 1.06B education subvention

As of September 1, regions in Ukraine used more than UAH 300 million out of a UAH 1.06 billion subvention intended for the New Ukrainian School, according to the Education and Science Ministry.

"As of September 1, 2020, the regions used UAH 301.234 million of the subvention intended for the development of the New Ukrainian School, which is 40.3% of the total subvention. In 2020, the subvention for the development of the New Ukrainian School is UAH 1.06 billion,” reads the report.

The funds of the educational subvention for the New Ukrainian School are allocated for the purchase of teaching materials and equipment for primary school classrooms; inventory for physical training and sports facilities, as well as educational, methodical and educational literature, notebooks with a printed basis for pilot schools. The funds are also provided for professional development of teachers and conducting supervision.

The draft budget for 2021 envisages UAH 1.4 billion for the New Ukrainian School.
