Health Ministry: More than UAH 7M allocated to improve work of eHealth system

The Ukrainian Health Ministry has redistributed UAH 7.1 million to improve the work of eHealth system.

Health Minister Maksym Stepanov stated this at a briefing on September 7, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

"We had a problem. The problem related to a shortage of funding for the system itself, the amount of funds allocated for the operation of the system. When it was too loaded, the system simply could not operate. It was necessary to expand its capacity. The Health Ministry found needed funds to expand its capacity. UAH 7.1 million was redistributed. We received the relevant approval by the Budget Committee [of the Verkhovna Rada]. It was before August 25. After that, the funds were transferred," Stepanov said.

He added that according to doctors, the eHealth system currently operates normally.

eHealth is a Ukrainian information and communication system that provides automation of health records and management of medical information in electronic form. It consists of the central database and medical information systems, between which automatic data exchange is provided.
