Special groups to check observance of quarantine rules in schools – health minister

Health Minister Maksym Stepanov has announced that special monitoring groups will be established to check how Ukrainian schools follow quarantine rules introduced to prevent the spread of coronavirus.

“The Education and Science Ministry and the State Food and Consumer Service will be responsible for these checks. Yesterday the Prime Minister of Ukraine set a task to create a monitoring group, consisting of [representatives of] the Education and Science Ministry, the State Food and Consumer Service, the Ministry for Communities and Territories Development, to conduct such monitoring across Ukraine,” Stepanov said during an hour of questions to the Government in the Verkhovna Rada, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

He added that the Health Ministry and the Education and Science Ministry have jointly developed and ensured the implementation of "sufficiently comfortable, clear rules that must be followed" in schools.

As reported by Ukrinform, on September 3, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal announced that Ukrainian schools would be checked for the observance of safety measures introduced to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
