New temperature record set in Kyiv

The night of September 1 in Kyiv city was the warmest one in 140 years of modern record-keeping, according to the Central Geophysical Observatory named after Borys Sreznevskyi.

“The night of September 1 in Kyiv was the warmest in 140 years, as the temperature did not fall below +21.9 °C. This is 3 °C higher than the previous record rate of + 18.9 °C for this day set in 2004,” reads the report.

As reported, May 2020 in Kyiv turned out to be the coldest May month in the 21st century in Ukraine.
