Almost 90-meters-high flagpole has been installed on the hills of Kyiv city to raise the largest flag of Ukraine.

"In a little while, the largest, main flag of Ukraine will fly over Kyiv hills. Specialists have already completed the installation of almost 90-meters-high flagpole. It weighs 32 tonnes. The size of the flag will be 16 meters by 24 meters," Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko posted on Facebook.

According to him, the lightning elements for the largest national flag have already been fixed so that the flag could be seen from almost anywhere in the capital at night.

"On the eve of the National Flag Day, we will open a memorial and solemnly raise the main flag of Ukraine. The city built this installation at the expense of patrons, and I’m very grateful to them!" Klitschko wrote.

The flagpole is erected on the territory of the Memorial Complex "National Museum of the History of Ukraine in the Second World War". The main flag is planned to be raised on August 23, the Day of the National Flag of Ukraine.
