National Security and Defence Council: Epidemic situation in Ukraine deteriorates significantly

COVID-19 epidemic situation has deteriorated significantly in Ukraine, and the staff of the National Security and Defence Council urges citizens to be conscious and strictly adhere to quarantine measures.

“In Ukraine, 2,134 coronavirus cases were recorded over the past 24 hours. Forty people died,” reads the statement of the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine.

According to the laboratory centers’ data, 2,439 COVID-19 suspicions were identified and 407 people were hospitalized, including 38 health workers, over the past day.

The highest number of confirmed coronavirus cases was registered in Kharkiv region (242), Kyiv city (227), Chernivtsi region (189), Lviv region (183), Ivano-Frankivsk region (168), Rivne region (138), Odesa region (127), and Ternopil region (115).

A total of 704 people recovered over the past 24 hours.

Since the start of pandemic, 156,685 COVID-19 suspicions have been identified in Ukraine and 98,537 people have had positive PCR test results. COVID-19 rate is 258.7 per 100,000 population.

Ukraine has confirmed 50,441 recoveries and 2,184 deaths since the start of COVID-19 pandemic.
