Government simplifies issuance of e-visas for entry into Ukraine

The Government has approved a draft resolution on amendments to the rules of issuance of visas for entry into Ukraine and transit through its territory.

"The document proposes to improve the procedure for issuing visas in electronic form," Representative of the Government in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Vasyl Mokan (Servant of the People party faction), posted on Facebook.

In particular, the resolution proposes to increase the multiplicity of e-visas, reduce the cost, and differentiate the rates of consular fees for e-visa issuance.

In addition, a visitor can apply for regular or urgent e-visa (when applying for urgent visa, the rate doubles).

"The terms of e-visa issuance are reduced: urgent issuance (one working day) and usual procedure (three working days) are introduced to replace the current term of up to nine working days," Mokan informed.

He noted that improvement of visa procedures would contribute to the development of multisectoral cooperation, intensification of economic cooperation with foreign partners, reboot of domestic tourism industry and attraction of foreign investment.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that Ukrainian e-visas would be issued under the new procedure from November 1, 2020.
