Quarter of Ukrainians ready to support Zelensky in presidential election - poll

A quarter of Ukrainians would vote for incumbent President Volodymyr Zelensky in the presidential election if the voting took place next Sunday, according to a joint survey conducted by the Socis Center and the Razumkov Center.

If the presidential election took place next Sunday, 25.6% of Ukrainians would vote for Zelensky, 13.7% for former Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko, 12% for Yuriy Boiko, and 6.8% for Yulia Tymoshenko. At the same time, 23.4% of respondents would not take part in the voting or were undecided.

If Zelensky and Poroshenko reached the second round of the presidential election, 44.3% of those polled would vote for Zelensky and 20.4% would support Poroshenko. At the same time, 25% of Ukrainians would not take part in the voting, and 10.3% refused to answer.

The survey entitled "Socio-political situation in Ukraine" was conducted by the Socis Center and the Razumkov Center on July 21-28, 2020. The results of the study represent the adult population of Ukraine, excluding non-government-controlled areas of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and parts of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions. A total of 4,000 respondents over the age of 18 were interviewed.
