Ukraine cooperating with Switzerland in four health projects

Ukraine is cooperating with Switzerland in four health projects, Deputy Health Minister Iryna Mykychak has stated.

“There is a project between the Health Ministry and the Swiss Cooperation Office. The project concerns the development of medical education, in particular reforming medical education in both higher education and nursing training. Another project is a project on mental health in Ukraine, which is designed for almost eight years and focuses on the development of education, provision of assistance on mental health issues, and ‘primary care’. One of the areas also concerns the prevention of risks of non-communicable diseases. It is currently at the stage of approval,” she said at a briefing on July 22, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

In addition, according to Mykychak, another ongoing project envisages Ukraine’s cooperation with Switzerland via the mediation and administration of the World Bank. The project is aimed at supporting reforms and good governance.

She thanked the Swiss Confederation for its cooperation and support in the field of healthcare.

As reported, the Ukrainian-Swiss project "Mental Health in Ukraine" has been launched in Ukraine. As part of the project, an official website has been created, which provides information on mental health for those who are interested in this topic and who have faced mental health problems. The website has a list of hotlines and a free online educational portal with training courses and webinars on mental health.
