Newly established Medical Council begins its work

The newly established Medical Council of the Ukrainian Health Ministry held its first meeting on July 13.

Health Minister Maksym Stepanov said this at a briefing on Tuesday, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

“The Medical Council held its first meeting yesterday. Its main task is to provide proposals on reforming healthcare, introducing medical technologies, developing new technologies, the issues of education… It will also deal with reforming certain areas of highly specialized healthcare, psychiatric care, anti-tuberculosis care, the issues of financing of small district hospitals,” Stepanov said.

The Medical Council will hold meetings twice a month, Stepanov added.
