Ukraine receives humanitarian aid from IAEA

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has provided Ukraine with humanitarian aid worth over UAH 2 million, which includes diagnostic equipment to detect COVID-19, according to the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry.

"The aid from the IAEA has been transferred to State Enterprise Ukrvaktsyna of the Health Ministry of Ukraine. This is a set of equipment for diagnostics using reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) designed for 2,000 tests," reads the statement.

Permanent Mission of Ukraine to the International Organizations in Vienna, in close cooperation with the IAEA, is working on the possible obtaining of additional technical assistance to Ukraine to tackle the spread of COVID-19.

The IAEA has launched an initiative to assist member countries in the early stages of the COVID-19 pandemic. The project is implemented through donor contributions from countries and organizations from around the world.

As reported, Ukraine’s cases of coronavirus rose to 44,334 on June 30, including 706 new infections confirmed in the previous day.
