Ukraine to develop tourism industry in line with EU standards - State Tourism Agency

Ukraine will develop its tourism industry in accordance with the standards of the European Union.

Head of the State Agency for Tourism Development Maryana Oleskiv stated this during a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Olha Stefanishyna, the agency’s press service wrote on Facebook.

"It is important for European tourists to understand that the Ukrainian tourism sector meets EU standards. Changes do not happen immediately, we have to work on the adaptation of Ukrainian legislation and focus on the European experience in the hospitality industry," said Oleskiv.

According to her, there are many real tourist "magnets" in Ukraine, which can be developed and at the same time to fulfill Ukrainian obligations under the Ukraine-EU Association Agreement.

In turn, Stefanishyna stated about plans to ensure constant coordination in this area, because "the development of tourism in Ukraine is an unconditional priority."
