Kyiv city authorities plan to resume the operation of municipal ground transport in the ordinary course after May 22.

"Today, the operation of capital's ground transport is still limited and one can use it only having a special pass. We plan to resume the operation of municipal ground transport in the ordinary course after May 22," Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko announced at a briefing, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

According to him, it should be understood that public transport can be stopped in one day but it will take some time to fully restore its work, that is, it is done gradually.

"In order to switch to normal operation, we will constantly increase the number of vehicles on the routes and restore the network of public transport routes, primarily of electric vehicles – trams and trolleybuses," Klitschko said.

Kyiv Mayor also noted that he had appealed to the Government with a request to resume the regular operation of Kyiv subway from May 25.
