Ukraine’s chief sanitary doctor wants to extend quarantine until May 12

Ukraine’s Chief Sanitary Doctor Viktor Liashko announced his intention to initiate the extension of coronavirus quarantine and to weaken it at the same time.

"As a sanitary doctor of Ukraine, I will prepare a quarantine extension proposal. At the same time, I can announce certain weakening of the quarantine if the epidemiological situation improves already on Monday [April 27]," Liashko said on the air of 24 TV channel.

At the same time, the chief sanitary doctor noted that he would demand to extend the quarantine until May 12 at least.

As reported, the Cabinet of Ministers expects that Ukraine may reach the peak of the coronavirus outbreak in early May. Afterwards, special anti-crisis measures would be introduced in Ukraine to support the economy.
