Ukraine leaves border with Russia closed until end of quarantine – Stepanov

In accordance with quarantine measures, Ukraine will continue to control the border with the Russian Federation and keep it closed.

Ukrainian Health Minister Maksym Stepanov said this at a briefing on April 20, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“According to the government’s decision on quarantine measures, we have closed the border with the Russian Federation. We do not expect any changes in this direction,” Stepanov said, answering a question related to the fact that the daily number of coronavirus cases recorded in Russia is growing.

The quarantine has been introduced in Ukraine since March 12, 2020 to fight the spread of coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

As of 09:00 on April 20, Ukraine reported 5,710 laboratory-confirmed Covid-19 cases, including 151 deaths and 359 recoveries.
