Upgraded plane Mriya to deliver Covid-19 cargo as part of SALIS program

The world's largest transport aircraft, An-225 Mriya, has made its first flight after upgrading, the Ukroboronprom State Concern has reported on its Facebook page.

"The Mriya crew conveys greetings from China! From there, with humanitarian cargo on board, the plane will be heading to Europe as part of the SALIS program," the report said.

According to ArmyInform, the Mriya has become the sixth Antonov Company aircraft involved in the carriage of vital cargoes to combat coronavirus disease (Covid-19).

Five An-124-100 Ruslan aircraft perform some of these fights as part of the Strategic Airlift Interim Solution (SALIS) program in the interests of NATO and the EU.

A total of 3,102 coronavirus cases were confirmed in Ukraine as of April 13. Nine-three people died of the disease, and 97 patients recovered. A total of 325 new cases have been recorded in Ukraine over the past 24 hours.
