More women among coronavirus victims in Ukraine

Eighty-seven percent of those who died of coronavirus in Ukraine were people over 50 years of age, Ukraine's Public Health Center has reported on Facebook.

"There were more women among all those who died from complications caused by COVID-19, and the proportion of people aged 50 years and over is 87% (38 fatal cases as of 10:00 on April 6)," the report reads.

It notes that most of the dead women were aged 50-59 years and men 60-69 years.

Most of the deceased women had severe cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, neoplasms, kidney, lung and obesity diseases. In general, the proportion of diseases was (one or more): 74% - cardiovascular diseases; 40% - diabetes; 7.5% - neoplasms; 7.5% - kidney diseases; 11% - lung diseases; 4% - obesity; 26% - combined diseases.

All 38 patients were hospitalized. Also, all people who died from complications caused by COVID-19 tested positive for coronavirus.

According to the Public Health Center, out of 1,319 confirmed cases, 95 cases were recorded among children. A total of 597 people, including 61 children, are undergoing outpatient treatment. Persons aged 30-69 years account for 74% of all confirmed COVID-19 cases in Ukraine.

A total of 1,319 cases of coronavirus disease were recorded in Ukraine as of April 6. Twenty-eight people recovered, and 38 died of the disease.
