Kyiv allocates about UAH 1 bln for healthcare

Kyiv City Council has allocated almost UAH 1 billion to the healthcare industry of the capital and UAH 300 million to support low-income people, according to the Council’s press service.

"Members of Kyiv City Council at a plenary meeting adjusted the budget cost of the city of Kyiv and the program for social and economic development of the capital. According to the decision, UAH 983.9 million was allocated from the local budget of Kyiv to the healthcare industry of the capital," the statement reads.

Funds are provided for the purchase of medical equipment, medicines and financial support for those who fight against the pandemic.

In addition, Kyiv City Council compensates for losses to the municipal enterprise Kyivpastrans and Kyiv Metro in connection with restrictive quarantine measures. The city also guarantees payment of salaries to their employees. In total, UAH 780 million is provided for that.

As reported, Ukraine introduced the emergency situation regime in the entire territory of the country until April 24.
