Five Crimean Tatars detained after searches in Bakhchysarai

Five Crimean Tatar activists have been detained on charges of participation in a terrorist organization and taken away after searches in Bakhchysarai, occupied Crimea.

"As of 10:30 [Crimea time], five people were detained: Enver Mustafayev, Seytumer Seytumerov, Amet Suleymanov, Rustem Seytmemetov, Osman Seytumerov... Everyone is charged under Article 205.5 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation," human rights activist and civil society activist Lutfie Zudiyeva posted on Facebook.

As she noted, the FSB officers fabricate another politically motivated case – the third Bakhchisarai group in the Hizb ut-Tahrir case.

The searches are ongoing in several houses.

Lawyers Emine Avamileva, Emil Kurbedinov, Edem Semedlyaev, Nazim Sheikhmambetov, Lilia Gemedzhy work at the site.

The searches in seven families of Crimean Tatar activists were held this morning in Bakhchysarai. In particular, security officers planted two "forbidden" books on detainee Amet Suleymanov.
