Four Ukrainians who returned from Italy test negative for coronavirus

Four Ukrainian citizens who returned from Italy have tested negative for the novel coronavirus Covid-19, the Public Health Center of the Ukrainian Health Ministry has reported on Facebook.

"On suspicion of the novel coronavirus infection, a Ukrainian citizen who returned from Italy and people accompanying her had their samples analyzed at a laboratory for the presence of the pathogen. Negative results were obtained. Two people from Dolyniany, Chernivtsi region, also had negative results," the report reads.

At the same time, the Public Health Center called for tolerance.

"Due to the fact that a new virus has been registered in the People's Republic of China, citizens of this country and other people are often harassed solely on the basis of their appearance. The Public Health Center of Ukraine calls on representatives of the public sector, business and population of Ukraine not to form a false stereotypical view," the report said.

A total of 83,399 laboratory-confirmed Covid-19 cases were reported worldwide as of February 28, 2020, and 2,858 of them were lethal. Some 36,659 people have beaten the infection.

In particular, 774 Covid-19 cases have been registered so far in 19 countries in Europe.
