Another Ukrainian on board Diamond Princess contracts coronavirus

One more Ukrainian crew member on board the Diamond Princess cruise ship has got infected with the novel coronavirus, the Consular Service Department of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry has reported.

"The Japanese Foreign Ministry has routinely confirmed that a second citizen of Ukraine, a crew member of the Diamond Princess vessel, has been infected with the coronavirus," the report said.

The Public Health Center of the Ukrainian Health Ministry confirmed that the second Ukrainian citizen had contracted the novel coronavirus.

"The results of studies of all 439 samples were obtained as of February 10, which helped identify 135 people infected with the 2019-nCoV virus. In particular, two citizens of Ukraine fell ill. The Ukrainians have currently been taken off the cruise ship and transported to a Japanese hospital in the capital region. They will stay in isolation there under appropriate medical surveillance for at least 14 days," the report said.
