Ukrainian activists and friends of Ukraine urge to join international action #LiberateCrimea #CrimeaIsUkraine on February 26, the Day of Crimean Resistance to Russian Occupation.

“We, Ukrainians and friends of Ukraine, representatives of the International Movement #LiberateCrimea, the Resistance Capitulation Movement and the Worldwide Movement of Patriots of Ukraine, urge all people of good will on February 26, 2020, the Day of Resistance to Occupation of Crimea, to join the global campaign #LiberateCrimea #CrimeaIsUkraine,” reads the statement posted on Facebook page of the event.

As noted, the main goal of the campaign is to “draw public attention to Russian aggression in Ukraine, to remind international diplomacy and the world society about the Kremlin's geopolitical crime - occupation of Crimea; to show the importance of unity and solidarity with Ukraine, which will contribute to the release of all hostages who are illegally detained in Russia and the Crimea, and also call on the whole world to increase pressure on Russia to restore territorial integrity and peace in our state.”

As of January 22, 2020, according to the Crimean Tatar Resource Centre, 101 people are political prisoners and persecuted for political and religious reasons, 90 of them are in the dungeons of the Federal Security Service (FSB). Police raids and detentions are continuing.

“By a crowded campaign or a flash mob in the central square of the city, or by a single picket near the Russian Embassy on February 26, we will remind the world: #LiberateCrimea! #CrimeaIsUkraine! #КъырымAзатOладжакъ!” the activists state.
