Three Russian politicians denied entry to Ukraine

Three Russian politicians have not passed border control on entry to Ukraine, the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine has reported.

"A Russian citizen arrived at Boryspil [Airport] from London. It turned out that the Russian is a representative of his country's pro-government political party, United Russia, and a former mayor of a regional center of the Russian Federation. The foreign politician could not confirm the purpose of his stay. Therefore, in accordance with the law of Ukraine 'On Border Control,' he was denied entry to our country. The Russian flew out from Boryspil Airport to Germany in the morning today, on January 23," the report reads.

According to the report, two more Russian politicians failed to pass border control at the Kyiv Zhuliany checkpoint.

"Last night, they arrived on a flight from Minsk. One of the visitors is also a representative of United Russia, and the other is a member of the Communist Party of Russia. Both said they had allegedly arrived in Kyiv to attend a conference. They have been sent back on a return flight," Ukrainian border guards said.
