Almost 500 million people rode Kyiv subway in 2019

The Kyiv subway serviced 495.3 million passengers last year, the Kyiv Metropolitan press service reported. 

“In 2019, the Kyiv Metro carried 495.300 million passengers, which is 700,000 (half of daily average passenger traffic) less than last year,” reads the report.

Akademmistechko was the busiest station. It was used by over 21.3 million Kyiv residents and guests of the capital. The quietest station on the red line was Dnipro, with 938.6 thousand passengers serviced during the year. In total, this line, consisting of 18 stations, transported 208.176 million passengers.

“The blue line remains the second busiest line. Last year it serviced 173.2 million passengers. The largest number of passengers was recorded at Minska station (over 17 million per year), while Poshtova Ploshcha was the least used station (4.9 million),” reads the report.

The green line of the Kyiv Metro serviced almost 118.8 million Kyiv residents and guests of the capital in 2019. The largest number of passengers was recorded at Lukianivska station (14 million) and Pozniaky station (14.8 million) station, while Chervonyi Khutir emerged as the station with the least number of passengers (1.8 million).
