Children from the National Scout Organization of Ukraine and the Association of Ukrainian Guides have handed over the Peace Light of Bethlehem to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, according to the official website of the head of state.

The scouts recalled that they had been bringing this symbol of concord, goodness and prosperity to Ukraine for over ten years.

"Each of us on this day is waiting for some miracle and the realization of a cherished dream, so let St. Nicholas visit every heart and every Ukrainian family. We want to wish our homeland prosperity, welfare, strength and patience on the path to peace. Guides and scouts know that the road to victory is very thorny and long. But our strength is in unity. Together we can achieve everything," a representative of the Association of Ukrainian Guides said.

Zelensky, in turn, said it was a great honor for him to receive the Peace Light.

"You said correctly - we really need peace. I think the heat from this fire is the most important thing, it can warm Ukrainians, especially our military who defend the borders of independent Ukraine," he said.

According to the report, the children sang a festive song to the president, and in memory of the meeting presented him a catalog of good deeds. Zelensky presented gifts to the young guests in return.
