Russian channel to broadcast TV series starring Zelensky

Russian TV channel TNT begins on December 11 the broadcasting of a satirical television series "Servant of the People" starring incumbent President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, according to TASS.

TNT launches the TV series two days after Zelensky's first face-to-face meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Kvartal-95 Studio produced the TV series "Servant of the People" in which Zelensky plays an ordinary teacher who became president. It has been broadcast on Ukraine's 1+1 television channel since 2015.

Earlier, the rights to broadcast the series were bought by Estonia's ETV+ and Kazakhstan's Channel 31. In 2016, Netflix purchased the rights to broadcast the TV series.

Kvartal-95 Studio, according to media reports, continues to operate in Russia, although Zelensky formally left the project - his name was excluded from the list of founders.
