Over two million citizens cross administrative border with Crimea since year-start

Since the beginning of the year, slightly more than 2 million citizens have crossed the administrative border with the annexed Crimea in both directions.

"In January-September 2019, slightly more than 2 million citizens crossed the administrative border [with Crimea] in both directions through all three entry-exit checkpoints (Chonhar, Kalanchak, Chaplynka). The number corresponds to the last year’s level," the press service of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine reports.

However, the State Border Guard Service notes that 1% citizens more crossed the border in the direction of mainland Ukraine. This figure also remains at last year's level.

Compared to 2015, the number of citizens crossing the administrative border with the annexed Crimea in both directions decreased by 16%, or about 400,000 people.
