Ukrinform participating in EANA conference

The Ukrinform National News Agency of Ukraine is participating in a conference of the European Alliance of News Agencies (EANA) in Prague.

According to a statement posted by Ukrinform Director General Oleksandr Kharchenko on Facebook, the discussion on the future of news agencies is attended by the heads of France Press, DPA, Press Association, Austria's APA, Poland's PAP, and almost 20 more agencies in Europe.

"We are talking about how classic agencies can withstand the blows of fate in the era of social media and fake news, how to develop, use artificial intelligence and more," he wrote.

According to Kharchenko, the EANA was invited to a discussion in Kyiv next year.

The European Alliance of News Agencies was founded in 1956 and today brings together more than 30 leading news agencies in Europe. Ukrinform has been a member of the EANA since 1995.
