Number of Kyiv residents rose by 200 thousand in 2018 - Klitschko

The number of residents in the capital of Ukraine grew by 200,000 in 2018.

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko stated this during a speech at the August conference of teachers and scientific workers of Kyiv city, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

"People are moving to the capital because the best living standards are here. Last year, about 200,000 people moved to Kyiv. Many of them are children. Therefore, over the past five years, 8 schools and 26 kindergartens have been built or completely reconstructed to comply with the modern requirements of the European level of education," Klitschko said.
