Ukraine to strengthen social protection of displaced persons

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has adopted a resolution the implementation of which will help strengthen the social protection of internally displaced persons and ensure the provision of targeted assistance.

The resolution introducing amendments to Cabinet of Ministers resolutions of October 1, 2014, Nos. 505 and 509, was adopted at a government meeting on Wednesday, August 14, the Social Policy Ministry reported.

In particular, the resolution is aimed at ensuring the payment of financial assistance to persons with disabilities of group I and persons who, according to a medical advisory commission, are incapable of self-care and require permanent outside assistance.

In addition, it is envisaged to grant the right to receive financial assistance to persons who have reached retirement age and to persons who have reached the age of 18 and continue their full-time education in educational institutions, as well as to increase the total amount of financial assistance paid to a family comprising two or more persons with disabilities (children with disabilities).
